Road Trip!

Since there has been some interest expressed in at least previewing the Murdock course this weekend, I guess it would be best to solidify some plans. So, if you'd like to go to preview the course this weekend, and make say 2 or 3 laps of the 10-mile loop, then here are the details of the trip. (If they don't work for most people, we can change them).

Let's plan on leaving the parking lot of ShopKo/Arby's on the corner of Hwy 2 and 27th at 8:30am on Sunday the 3rd. We should be able to make it to Murdock in ~40 minutes. I picked this spot so people could bike to the pickup, and then I can drop off at homes if people want to. You may want to bring a backpack with a dry t-shirt and possibly dry shorts. And food. And whatever else one needs on a trip such as this.

I can take 3 other riders and 2 other bikes. monkeygirl had volunteered to do the same, so if she'd confirm this by comment, that'd be great. Also if you are interested in going, please say so in the comments so we know when we can leave. Any questions/comments/time change requests/etc, post comments.

yep, I can drive and I shlep stuff too, I am not going to ride, as my road bike is gonzo to Ashville, I just want Emory to see the course and benefit from any strategy discussions you may have. So I have room for two other bikes, just a warning I do drive a mini cooper, but the back seat is not the hell you think it is. But I did not want to see shocked faces. If it is just a 10 mile loop likely I will just park and wait for you guys to pass by. I will bring a cooler too, so if you want to bring stuff to put in there that is fine too. At least that way you do not necessarily have to keep your stuff with you on your bike, you can leave it with me.

I might be up for one lap or "wheel support".

Sounds like a plan Steve. This is an "anyone interested" event.

If the weather is favorable I may just meet ya'll in Murdock at around 9:15am then.

FYI - the lodge at the Platte River State Park has a breakfast buffet every Sunday starting at 9:00am. I may ride one loop with you guys and cut out for the buffet. The folks from lincoln call it their bacon ride.

I'm gonna put up a new post this evening detailing the event (yet again), with some other information. Won't be for a while as I'm still at the office, and will be for a while.
