Wondering if anyone would be up for a fun little ride Monday morning at 7am.
The plan is to leave at the bench and head out to Mahoney. Eat at their wonderful buffet. Head back home. The pace is going to be an easy recovery pace. No laying down the hammer. Just some good times with good people.
Who's up for it?
ADDENDUM: Well, a small crimp was put in the plan. I was hit by a truck today while returning from my ride. My bike is pretty well toast, and my legs and wrists aren't feeling so hot right now. So, I will not be riding. However, I am willing to drive out and meet everyone at the park and provide a ride home for anyone not wanting to ride back. I figure since I am trying to organize it I should go no matter what.

I will try to be up for it.
You driving to the bench?
I had such a rotten night on the bike last night (only 1 ride in the last two weeks has me REALLY out of shape), that I'm going to wait and see.
I'll be riding to the bench. No car, so I won't be able to take my movie back. hehe
What route are you thinking of taking?
whos driving to the bench?
Does anyone know if the place will be open that day? Holiday?
Looks like Labor day is the official last day of normal hours, so it should be. But pack fuel just in case.

Details question.
Gravyl ride or roadie ride?
Bob - the original planned route was 84th street to HWY 6 and out. If you see my addendum, the route is pretty much opened to whatever anyone chooses. An alternative would be to take the Mopac out to Elmwood and then head to Mahoney from there.
Gravy - as for gravel or road...doesn't matter now. I originally wanted road but that's changed now.
hey, new bike for Kevin!
sorry about the whole "in pain" thing.
what the heck?! You ok overall? What happened?
Hate to hear this Kevin! Hope you heal up fast.
I was stopped at 17th and Q waiting for traffic to pass when an F-250 turned onto 17th street, took the turn short and ran into me head on. Thankfully, there were 2 eyewitnesses. Also the police report says that the driver was looking at something on the side of the road when she was turning. She didn't notice me until she saw me pop up over her hood. I ended up pretty damn close to the driver side wheel.
No broken bones. My saving grace is that I naturally go completely limp when I am in an accident. Could barely move my right leg, mostly because the quad was hit pretty hard and it feels like the worst charlie horse in the world. Times 10. Also some minor abrasions. Paramedics came and there didn't appear to be any trauma so I didn't go to the hospital.
Next morning though, my whole front trunk is majorly aching. Probably some light internal bruising in the chest and abdomen.
Well, that's the short story. If you want the long story, ask when you see me. hehe
I'm not sure that being hit while not moving is a talent you should be striving for. Glad it wasn't more serious. Heal up quickly.
:( I heard about this yesterday. I really hope you're alright.
so who all is in for the ride?
I would love to join in on the ride. However, I am new in town and have no idea where you will be meeting ("where's the bench?). Thanks.
Trevor
Trevor - The "bench" is behind the Shopko on S. 27th and Hwy 2. It's the NW corner of the intersection of the roads. Let me know if that doesn't help. Hope to see you there.
Man, Kevin, that is a drag. Hope you get a good settlement and a great new bike out of the deal!
Still deciding if I'm up to going out Monday morning. Although I felt better on Saturday morning than I did last week, I don't want to slow you guys down.
I'm in. Who else beside Trevor and I?
I will make an effort to go. My main difficulty will be waking up on a holiday.
